We are delighted to announce that Yves De Leeneer has been inaugurated as the 121st President of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST).
Yves succeeds Martin Shaw MNM and will hold the position of the IMarEST President for one year. Stephen de Mora is deputy for the year, serving as President-Elect. The Presidential handover took place after our AGM yesterday and was followed by Yves' first technical lecture to members.
Yves, a Chartered Engineer and Chartered Marine Engineer, is a Fellow of the IMarEST and of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects. He sits on the IMarEST Board of Trustees and has been Chair of the joint IMarEST and RINA Singapore branch. He said: “It is an honour to take on this role as President of the IMarEST. I am looking forward to working with the Executive Team and our professional and student members around the globe as we continue to shape a sustainable future for the marine sector and the global community of marine professionals.”
